Isobel Martin

Solicitor

Isobel is a solicitor and accredited police station representative who regularly represents clients at the police station and local Magistrates’ Courts.

Isobel has worked as litigator on a variety of cases ranging from assaults and thefts, to murder and complex frauds. She has particular success in getting cases dropped post charge as a result of written representations and works hard to actively engage with the prosecution throughout proceedings.

As an advocate, Isobel represents the accused at first appearances, trials, and sentencing hearings. She often secures favourable outcomes, achieved through careful consideration of the client’s needs, and her ability to tailor submissions to their unique circumstances.

Cases include:-

R v S - Client found not guilty in the Crown Court of controlling prostitutes for gain. She maintained throughout she was herself a victim of duress.

R v L - Case dropped following successful written representations that possession of the blade was for the defendant’s own safety.

R v M – Advocate for client found not guilty at trial for theft, fraud, and malicious communications.

R v J – Client received a conditional discharge following submissions the magistrates’ should go outside their guidelines due to mitigation advanced.
